MEET OUR GRADUATES Congratulations to Patricia Gabriela Guzmán Navarrete for Academic Excellence on the successful completion of the Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics with Honorable Mention and Distinction. Hi! I’d like to share with you some of my life experiences. Mexico City is my birthplace. I am the second of five siblings. I began studying English from the moment I entered kindergarten and have never stopped this fascinating endeavor. My two children are wonderful and successful people—a daughter Verónica and a son Enrique. Grandchildren? Yes, Emiliano, a handsome three-year old whom I adore. In my free time I love knitting and spending time on Facebook, mainly on the farm, of course. I fell in love with teaching English from the first day I taught my first lesson. I find that sharing everything with my students is very enriching. At the present time I give private classes for all levels of English and TOEFL Preparation. Several years ago I discovered Teachers College Mexico City and it was very enlightening to find out that I could continue my professional development through distance learning. I did not have the time to attend classes, so I found that this was the perfect option for me. I immediately enrolled in two excellent Associate Degrees—one in Education and one in TESOL. I was very happy with all the things I learned but was not quite ready to end my learning experience. I wanted to continue my professional development even further. Consequently, two years ago I enrolled in the Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics with a concentration in English Grammar and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. Having reached this objective has given me much more confidence and has undoubtedly broadened my path to success. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Teachers College, especially my tutor, Ms. Adriana Alcalá, who gave me lots of academic counseling, inspiration, and support during my studies. Thank you for taking the time to read about me, and I highly encourage you to continue with your own personal and professional growth. Professor Patricia Guzmán patriciagabriela@gmail.com |
